IMSS 07-1 Postdoctoral Fellow

On or after the 16th of July 2007

The successful candidate will belong to the Photon Factory and will be expected to pursue research in the following area: Novel experimental methods in surface science using polarized soft X-ray.
Involvement in the commissioning of the new variable polarization undulator beam line BL16. Development of new methodologies for real time observation of surface chemical reactions by wavelength-dispersive XAFS and three-dimensional analysis of thin layers by a combination of micro-beam and depth-resolved XAFS including XMCD using the new BL16.

Applicant must have a Ph. D. obtained within last 10 years, as of the deadline for application, or is sure to get Ph. D. prior to starting the job at KEK.

Applicant is required to come to KEK for an interview. We will arrange the interview to be as little burden as possible for applicants. We would consider a TV conference for the interview if the applicant is required to travel a very long distance (mostly for people abroad).

Base annual salary: 3,960,000 yen

Salary payment method:The above base annual salary is paid monthly. Supplementary allowance for

                                    commuting will be paid in addition.
