 Image #MS001  GGA
Synchrotron radiation from the KEK Photon Factory beam line revealed an entire structure for the protein GGA1 for the first time. Protein GGA1 is responsible for the transportation of various other proteins inside the human cell. Understanding of the exact shape of the protein is essential to shed lights on the dynamic activities in our body.

Image #MS004  Fermi-level of metal and alloy   2002
Drawings of the Fermi-level of the metals (a) pure copper, (b) copper-paradium alloy and (c) copper-aluminum alloy. KEK PF-AR (Photon Factory Advanced Ring) has successfully analyzed the detail structure of the Fermi-level of the metal electrons with the Compton scattering of the high intensity X-ray.

 Image #MS005  PF
Plan view of the beam line area of the Photon Factory 2.5 GeV ring. Positron circulating in the innermost ring emits photons as their orbits are vent with magnetic fields, known as "synchrotron radiation". High intensity and coherent photons at various wave lengths, from ultraviolet light to X-ray, are extracted into nn beam lines for the study of materials and protein structures.
